I'm working on sunflower breeding myself. Sunflowers have a head consisting of florets, each individual seed has it's own stigma, and stamen cone/tube. The staminal tube comes out first, and you can easily take the pollen from that, then the stigma shoots up the center. I'd use the non-pollen producer as the female, obviously, since then you don't have to worry about self-fertilization. What are your breeding goals? I'm trying for a large confectionery seeded, single red flower.
