I wouldn't plant anything in the area for a year. Unfortunately, atrazine is quite mobile in the soil, especially sandy soil, and you may see effects on your trees, shrubs, and perennials in the coming months.

I lost count of the number of customers who came to me because their valuable trees and shrubs were in such trouble. Very often, the problems originated in the use of weed and feed products. The granules don't have to be applied all that near a garden bed for roots to come into contact with the chemical.

You need to do your own research on the health effects of atrazine. I've been accused of having something of a conflict of interest regarding the use of pesticides (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, miticides, etc.)

Also, visit the Organic Lawn Forum for ideas on how to grow a pesticide free lawn. That's a VERY challenging task when you overseed your permanent grass with rye, a practice that is detrimental to the permanent stuff.

remove an inch of soil .... ??? ... dig a hole behind the garage.. take that soil to the bed ... dump affected soil in that hole ...????

if we are not talking about veg growing... stuff you might eat ... and we are talking about rather cheap annuals ... just plant some ... would you prefer losing a few bucks... or looking at bare earth for the season ....

you said some minimal scattered pellets ... who can really tell.. how minimal ... minimal is ...
