Which would you rather have?

Would you rather have a double oven with convection or a single convection oven with a convection microwave? My dream is an induction double oven range with convection, however I don't think I can convince my husband I need a $3000 range. Anyone have a convection mic? Have you used it to bake?

I am having this similar dilemma. I asked about the speed ovens in the appliance section, and my take away is that there's nothing like an oven for baking.

However, it's not even the $3k price tag for the oven. The double oven induction is a hard to find beast. They have terrible reviews, and vendors are dropping them. It seems like the induction draws too much power to also support 2 ovens, and they burn out? So I might be able to swallow the $3k for an amazing oven. I have trouble spending it for an unreliable oven.

I think I may be going for the double oven with traditional electric cooktop. I can replace it in a few years when induction gets more mature.

2 other options are a second wall oven ($$$), or a toaster oven.

Samsung has a double convection oven with induction cooktop. The induction cooktop had some fewer features than several stand alone induction cooktops, but the twin ovens looked quite interesting.

Here is a link that might be useful: Samsung induction range

That Samsung (while pretty, and still in the $3k range around here), is NOT a double oven.

It's a single oven with a divider, that can theoretically heat each section to different temps. However, there's no element in the divider (unless it's hidden, but it's too thin for me to believe it's there.) So you're not going to get a proper bake/broil in both "ovens". Plus, the full size oven is the same as the big oven in my current electric dual oven. So with the divider, you get 2 small ovens instead of the 1 big, 1 small that I have now.

It's kinda the worst of both worlds.

Thanks amberm145. I was wondering why I only saw one brand with the double oven/ induction top. An electric double with true convection I can get around $1500, the convection mic worries me so I think the double oven will be my best bet. Jtsnj I am definitely looking at the samsungs since they have true convection. Thanks.
