Giraffes in my window......

Well, H. Giraffe that is. Here are some of my currently blooming Hippeastrums.
H. Giraffe, some scapes have 3 blooms this year.

H. Tiramisu

H. papilio and an H. correiense hybrid (Komoriya). This papilio clone is apple green in color with deep crimson markings. It has 3 blooms per scape.

H. Melfi. This is an old plant that produces numerous offsets and scapes.

H. Fanfare. This is one of the few doubles that I think is worth keeping in my collection.

H. Tinkerbell. I love the fact that this cultivar produces 6 flowers per scape and they all bloom at once.

H. puniceum

H. manchupijchensis. This is a big robust species that does well in my growing conditions and blooms twice a year in spring and fall.

Ans soon to be blooming my H. Santos, a number of RC and other Komoriya bulbs.

I Did Enjoy!!! What a display of beautiful flowers!! Your Machala looks like Tiramisu to me but I won't complain, whatever its name I'd love to find one!! I have a Giraffe sending up a scape and I hope it's as prolific as yours! Not a good year for me so far for re-blooms so seeing your blooms are a real feast for the eyes! Can't wait to see the rest when they bloom!!

Your H. manchupijchensis is just gorgeous, they're all gorgeous!!

Thanks Donna. You caught my Machala/Tiramisu mix-up as I was editing my post.....LOL. I do have Machala blooming also but did not have time to upload the photo. I lost many bulbs late last autumn. We had torrential rains for over a week just before I put my "outdoor" potted hippeastrums in for the winter. The resulting rot destroyed a number of my old favorites. I could not get my potting mix to dry out (even though I use an extremely porous orchid mix) and I ended up yanking most of them out of their pots and setting them on the basement floor for a few weeks to dry out.

I did think "ah take a look at these giraffes", but that fotos that kicked me out of my shoes! Really nice flowers and a good taste in different varieties! Great collection! Whant to see them all!
