Pruning Cramoisi Superieur

I pruned my first rose today, my Cramoisi Superieur. Now I only have 103 to go.

Logging inn here is very new and different. It will take time to get used to since I had to use an older email, and do not know what I am doing. The account numbers were too long and difficult to read. I am now very nervous when it used to be calming to come here. My first date here was Feb 2001.

I hope I can return once I leave.

I don't like this change at all. But thank you for reminding me to prune my roses when I get over this case of bronchitis.

I hope you find your way back!

I just started pruning also. I've done 9, and I've got about 100 to go... The rest of my roses won't really need to be pruned, thank goodness.

I hope you didn't prune 'Cramoisi Superieur' as you would a Hybrid Tea Rose. Chinas don't much like that, and I killed a few, long ago, before I figured it out.

OH, you're Sammy in OK? Right! YOU knew that!

When I signed up, my name was gone so now I have to be sammy_gw. That's ok, I guess.

I usually prune everything almost the same way. I have not grown hybrid teas for many years, but I cut back everything because of the winter freezes.

We have had your Southern California weather for a few days, but we will lose it on Thurs.

Just want to say that I totally empathise with your sense of nervousness as a result of this takeover of GardenWeb and the new format, especially since normally it's been such a calming and reassuring place to hang out and catch up; now all of a sudden it feels like a whole different and somewhat alienating/impersonal environment, including having to re-sign on as if we were new/strangers to the forum. Fortunately, I had no problem with keeping my name - but I can well imagine how disconcerting it would feel to have been made to change it. Will we all still recognise each other? For some reason I keep flashing back to starting at kindergarten and feeling completely out of my depth - almost 60 years ago! LOL (sob..sob...)

The system didn't recognize me or my email. They gave me endless numbers to copy, and then more numbers. it said to write the letters and number, and I tried to copy the directions as letters.

I come here when I am tired, ready to rest, ready to get involved in what interests me most outside of my family. After 12 years I didn't exist.

Suddenly the directions changed, and became friendly. That made a huge difference.

I can accept the format, and in the past I have changed the colors to suit my eyes that are sensitive to the bright white. I can push the screen of my laptop back, and read it better, so I don't want to change much until I think Houzz has accepted us.

I do wish we had had an opportunity to re-identify ourselves while being on the Garden Web rather than to have been greeted as invaders or strangers.

However if we can help each other, and help the system, we can be as pleased as before.
