Console table help!

How long should a console table be in relation to the sofa it sits behind? And is a depth of 18" too deep?
What is pictured is our sofa 86" L x 35" H
Console table I'm interested in is 71" L x 30"H x 18"D taped out in blue. Is this appropriate? It still gives a 36" walking space to get in and out of the room.
Any advise would be wonderful. Thank you!
