To play off the red, keep the rest of the furnishings from taking over by thinking about gray, white, black or brown for the larger pieces. The wallpaper is not going to be the exact color of the drapes, but that's not a crime. Keep things simple, coordinate with a modern colorful area rug, and you will have the look you want.
