The TV arrangement looks off balance. The top cabinetry actually looks heavier than the bottom cabinetry - and wider, though that may be an illusion.

Also, your surface mount dome light reflecting in the glossy cabinet face is not helping.

Does the maker of that cabinetry have side pieces? To sort of frame it up a little bit. Make it look more like a built in as opposed to that big piece floating over the TV.

I like where you are going with your color palate. You need more blue. You could potentially layer a rug over the wall-to-wall. Not optimal but if you don't want to replace the carpet at this time it would work.

Then some ambient light...lamps, uplights, etc.

You need to bring in blue with more than those pillows (and tiny bit in peacock feathers) -- maybe the lamp on your end table could have some blue in the base; maybe you could put a bowl on the coffee table, etc. Art between the door and windows would help too -- right now, loveseat is off-kilter from windows and art. You might want a little entrance table by the front door (if that's what it is) too. Something on the wall to left of TV. (And what is in the back left corner in the 2nd pic??)

Agree that TV arrangement looks extremely odd, in both scale (heavy top piece) and finish (shiny business). Do you have to have that extra cabinetry above?

Main problem is excess of brown tones (esp. dark). Second biggest is lack of signs of inhabitance, both decor and other stuff.

The TV stand (rather than a credenza 25% wider than the TV) is the problem. Its placement is not good either as it is in the traffic path from the door. It should move to the peacock wall. Hang the peacock art with its center point 5' above the floor on the current TV wall. Float the large sofa perpendicular to the door and windows to create a visual foyer/entry behind it. Put TV on the current sofa wall, but not on this hulking stand. Get a pretty credenza that adds some of the peacock colors to that wall. Float the loveseat left of the sofa, facing the two windows. It should "L" with the big sofa and one of the end tables should anchor the corner of the "L" while the other one is left of the loveseat. Remove the art between the windows and hang floor to ceiling drapery panels, two at each window. Then buy a pair of swivel chairs that have a pattern or your accent color from the art and let them face the loveseat with their backs to the window. Place the coffee table 18" from the big sofa and add a pair of baskets underneath it. Change out the builder-s basic light for a semi-flush drum fixture. Then we'll see if it is possible to add some task and accent lighting. Do you have any floor outlets built-in.?

I agree with jn3344 - the TV looks unbalanced. Adding some side cabinetry would balance it out and give you a place to add books and other accessories.

Why is the 3-seater couch floating in the middle of the room? It looks awkward. I would push it back a bit and push the loveseat in closer.

Other than that, you are simply in dire need of accessories! Add some drapes to the windows. How about two-tone, with blue as the dominant tone?

Add some lamps to the side tables as well. Lamps add such warmth to a room.

A rug would add colour and interest, but you would need a big one which could get expensive, so it depends how much you want to spend.

Finally, you could add an entryway console table to the wall to the left of the door. This would define the entryway a bit more and also give you an opportunity to add art/accessories.
