My hyacinth and daffodil bulbs started sprouting at the end of January because it's been so warm around here lately. I know they're pretty hardy, and it's been cold but not super cold. But now there's single digit temperatures forecast and I'm not sure they can survive that. Just how cold can sprouted bulbs get before they die? I put a handful of mulch on each of them that I scraped up from elsewhere in my garden, but I'm not sure that will be enough. I don't even know if I can get more mulch this time of year. What do you guys think? Will they be okay, or should I do something, or is there nothing I can do?
