I'm still new but it seems to pick up in spring Hi, I am from central nj and welcome to the nj forum we are trying to pick it up a little, but I am still hibernating in this cold

I'm in Bergen County. I'm a funk right now with the snow and cold. Hard to imagine crocus will be blooming in a few weeks. Can't wait!!

Ohh they will? I planted some along with tulips and daffodils this year so excited Hoping this cold doesn't kill my irises though

Irises are pretty hardy; they should be fine. Don't wait for the crocus...plant snowdrops! Mine were blooming in my Monmouth County Garden in late December; they're still fine under the snow and will be there to greet me - and the daffodils - when the snow melts. Heaths are doing well, too, with more pink blossoms being revealed each day as the snow melts.

This was my first year planting bulbs, fall 2013 we were focusing on other areas of the new house and didn't plant any, so excited to see the bulbs bloom. I have crocus, daffodils and tulips, at least I know they got enough cold this year lol.

Thanks for the tip on snowdrops. I didn't realize they bloomed so early. My heath was blooming too, before it got buried in snow.

The snowdrops also multiply so you only need to plant them once. I dug some up from an abandoned house and now I have plenty. I love them!
