Does this chair look OK?

This is an entry hall in my house. The more than 100 year old refinished library table, lamp, and winter trees wall art stays. I need a chair in this spot (for easy shoe removal) since I'm trying to keep carpets cleaner with a new outdoor shoes off policy. The chair is new and can be returned for a few more days. Does it work?

Tig, for sure!!!!! It looks awesome!

Thanks Ann! Tell me something, did it take you awhile to get visually used to how low the back is? I'm used to my other ones, and you really can't see the Tig until you are almost right at the counter. I know that's what I wanted, but it is throwing me for a bit of a loop... Did you have higher back stools before you got your current ones? Or did you have backless?

I had backless before, so I didn't have that adjustment.

Tgb1, seriously, I might have to change up the stools we have in the mountains. I just love yours! That deliciously delicate footprint!!

My vote is for the tig, without question. Do you have enough votes yet lol? Kidding aside, it looks great!

    my vote is for the wire one :}

Thanks indomom, kcooz07 and toats! Kcooz07 - I haven't heard from Zaz yet, but so far I believe it is unanimous lol!!

Indomom, my husband sat on the Tig tonight for dinner, and he said he really can't believe how comfortable it is...

Lol Hi Tgb1, I answered you in my Houzz... hold on, I'll copy/paste... lol

Hi Tgb1, I just saw... I won't say I love how low the wire stool is (just because I wanna see it! lol), but it blends well in the pics you posted. It works... :) It's cute too.

I cannot say I dislike the other stool, but it seems much lighter than your tiles/back-splash and pillows..., so they really stand out. That doesn't necessarily bother me, because I like contrast (it's not my room though), but in this case... I think you will be happier with the wire stool.

You said the cream stool was uncomfortable, so for me.... it's a goner. Who wants cute stools that hurt your buns? Right?

    There's my 1/2 cent! Lol

PS.... I love your animal print pillow... and cool stove too! :D

Thanks Zaz! I answered you back in your houzz lol!!!

And your opinion is definitely more than 1/2 cent to me.... : ))

Ann - without me scrolling back to eternity, would you mind posting a pic of your stools against the counter? I'd like to see the height...

Thank youTgb1, ;) btw... luv your tissue box. :) And want to add... that pillow next to the animal print... that is gorgeous. It looks full of color... but soft. I hadn't noticed before.

    You're welcome... :)

It's velvety soft Zaz. That's the one my husband always naps on!

Tgb1, I can't find a pic of the stools and my son is here cleaning a bunch of fish he and his girls caught today, so the kitchen is too messy for pics right now. But, the height of my stools looks exactly like the height of the tigs in your kitchen.

Either your current one or wire. Is it comfortable?

I've also sat in the Tig stools and chairs in the store. I was amazed at how comfortable they were.

Happyleg - both my current stool (black) and the wire are very comfortable. I just want a new, updated look.

The wire stool is the clear winner to me.

    Thanks stryker! I agree : ))

Ann - love the thought of your son and granddaughters cleaning fish in your kitchen! That's a messy job I'm sure....

Lol, my son and my husband (but he was busy yesterday and couldn't join them on their little fishing trip) love fishing, but not one of them will eat fish (including those two granddaughters). They hate it and I love it, so I get all the fish they catch:) But, I will NOT clean a fish, so the guys get stuck doing that for me. They are now in the freezer, ready for me to enjoy:)

Cleaning fish has got to be far down on the list of fun things to do. I hope never to have that assumption confirmed.

Your house is real pretty, btw, tgb.

    Ann thanked stryker

Ann, me too... I luv fish, but yep... no cleaning it for me either. Lol

My husband fishes quite a bit but we never eat what he has
caught as he doesn't want to do the cleaning or the cooking. All he does is catch and release. To get good fish we have to go to our brother in laws.

Thank u for the compliment, Stryker :))

Ann - thanks for letting me borrow your thread :))

Anytime Tgb1! I loved discussing your stools and you know how much I love the tig so I'm quite delighted it looks to be moving into your home as the new addition.

For those of you that have been kind enough to follow and help me in this thread over a couple years, I just wanted to let you know, I've started a new thread. It's about a minor topic, but since this one has grown so big and that can make them slow, I think I'll move my chat about my house, my Houzz friend's houses, and all the other random stuff to my new thread in the future. I've actually begun it with a real dilemma, albeit a limited one:)

So if successful, I'll close this dilemma and move to this one.

I think the proportion between the table and chair is a little off. I love the chair, but visually you may want to consider a taller chair.

    yes.

    Hi Ann!!! :)))

    Hi tgb1!!!

I think this chair is a very nice add-on to the room. Not in the way but still noticeable.

It's a very nice chair but I think it would get more attention somewhere with an end table of some sort.

Thanks for your thoughts Alisha and James. This dilemma is 2.5 years old and the chair was returned back then. Another chair ended up in that spot.

I think that the only thing out of place is the table. The chair, light fixture, and decor on the wall are all modern, while the table is more traditional. However, back to the chair, I love the chair. Very unique!

I love it! But I definitely think it needs a small trendy needlepoint pillow or a light cashmere throw for some texture!

I love it! It's a beautiful modern touch.

I also love your wall art!

Wow! What a read!! Probably the most interesting post I have every read here !!!!!!!

It's unique and not like everything you see out there!

All looks great, but my vote is for the tig.

It works, but I see a lot of vertical lines. You could go with something more weighty. But I like the chair there
