Foyer needs help! Please!

I recently bought the round table and the rug, which I love, but the space seems incomplete. There are a few (traditional style) paintings that I'm having framed at the moment, so I could incorporate those in the foyer. I really want it to look inviting and very nice. I'm including a picture of the adjacent formal dining room (which has way too many accessories on that table that I'm saving to put around the house later). Any ideas?

    1) you need a piece of art over the console table
    2) you need something on the round table -- vase of flowers, sculpture, etc. -- that helps it take a more substantial vertical position in the space
    3) what is going on with the front door? it looks in these pictures as though there are a hundred postcards stuck up on it, which is very distracting? (perhaps it's just glass that photographs oddly...)

    Neat elements!

The front door has my xmas cards that I haven't taken down yet...sigh...Will do though. Should I place art on the other walls, too? Or something else? Will the sculpture and one piece of art be enough to draw interest to the room?

Since you have the large round table, don't think you need the small console table. Maybe fill that wall with a large tapestry.

Then add great fresh flowers to your table.

you need a conversation piece = some art.

an original painting would be excellent, but if its not in your budget canvas or metal prints are quality and another option. Here are some of my suggestions:

What is that room ? A dinning or front room. If a dinning room how come two tables? I would put up a few paintings, the first one u had shown on here was very nice. It depends on what color your rooms r. The last pic is ok too.

Also u can put a colorful throw over the table. Something with some texture to it. Colors tha t match your other rooms.

The large vase of flowers is nice too. Or a large statue.

How much of a transformation are you seeking? There are certainly decor items that will brighten the dull area. However there are a number of design changes that I could suggest if you'd really to make a project out of it. The room has a lot of potential.

    Holly, the violinist is perfect.

Could do a bench and mirror in place of the console table. Mirror would brighten the area up. Also like this tablescape:

Rather than the two rugs in the entry, think about one larger one in brighter colors:

Erin, I'd prefer to keep the round table and round rug (I just purchased both), but feel free to transform away. I'll make a project out of it if need be, I want this room to look great
