Geez Nancy, seeing that makes me want to put a sweater on. Yesterday afternoon we dug out the little hosta bed just outside the kitchen. They needed dividing badly and I want to dig in some of the good stuff before replanting. The hostas are just sitting under a tarp until I get that done. Off to the garden centre later on to pick up some more bean poles :). I've already started tomato seed, not growing as many varieties as I did last year, I need the space for beans LOL. So far this year we seemed to have missed winter, but you never know what ol' mother nature still might have up her sleeve for us here on the west coast.

those icicles are beautiful ! but soo cold looking. We also have alot of ice here, its kinda raining ice and not even the dogs are making paw prints it! Just a sheet of it.

Nancy - There are a lot of special symbols that you can type in on a PC. You use what are called alt-codes. The code for the degree symbol is 248. To get it you hold down the alt key and type 248 on your keyboard number pad. When you release the alt key the symbol will show up. You can find tables of the symbols and codes online.

If you have a Mac you can still get special symbols, but I don't know how. On an iPad you hold down the zero key and when the degree symbol pops up above it you slide your finger up to it and let go.

It's in the 40s and 50s here...which is unheard of in our area. Usually it's 8 inches of snow, followed by 4-6 weeks of mud (or as some call it, March...LOL) but right now, it's almost nice enough to start pulling out some weeds.

Until we find out if we have to move...I'll take the nice weather. At least we can see what's in the pasture, while we look at homes, rather than all the snow.

If the alt codes aren't working for you, have you switched on your num lock? Also, I know I said this, but are you holding the alt key down until the numbers get typed in and are you using the number pad and not the numbers above the qwerty row? Just double checking.
