I'm still here, I just rarely post anything. My garden is new and I don't have much to show. I have 4 fruit trees, grapes that look dead, and I just planted some seeds on the side of my yard.

Some people can't deal with the changes. I'm sure we'll get more traffic as people get used to the new forum. I do miss the location next to our names/profile. It's really helpful to see what location and zone people are in especially when they have a question about a certain plant when you're at a forum like "tropical fruit tree" forum. I hope they implement something like it in the future.

temperene?? Jim, is that you? I got 86'd from Cubits.......now *there's* a story, and just didn't care for ATP. So, here I am. And Valley Permaculture Alliance, but that one has its issues as well. Maybe Houzz will turn out to be a good replacement. We'll see.

Hah! OK, here's the nutshell: When Dave sold Dave's Garden and started Cubits, the new admins at Cubits SW Gardening Forum, being Dave 'followers', called for a boycott of the new Dave's Garden. I tried to say that the best way to start a new business, Cubits, was with positive energy, not the negative energy a boycott would produce.

Rene, you and I both tried to state in Dave's that this was just a business transaction, Dave sold the site to another company. Probably made a bundle of cash in the process. No problem with that. But ppl became incensed that the new company would "....keep using Dave's name in pursuit of their fortunes." There was no logic or reason in place. They are gardeners not business entrepreneurs. They did not understand that "Good Will" is part of the sales process. It was just a bunch uninitiated ppl hanging on to their passion....Dave's Garden. It got ugly. But we don't need to go there.

They got mad at me for trying to enlighten them. They kicked me out and barred access but that was okay, I did not/do not want to participate in an intellectual battle with dimwits. I exited, they carried on. It's all good. As I like to say 'Peace'. mm

They actually barred you from the site?! "Melody" was my probation officer at DG.

Yup. 86'd. Some folks can get crazy with power. Oh the power of being a site Admin, you can bring all your drama to full force. The admin's screen name was 'Boo'. In some circles off-line we called her Boo Hiss. :-}

I finally got back to this site. It would not accept my old log in info so I had to set up a new ID.

I have got to say that so far I am not liking this new arrangement. The site is blah to look at. Hopefully people will come back and we can get it back on track.

I just got an email telling me to confirm my account, didn't even know things had changed. Haven't been doing much with my garden mainly because of other projects, but also because of water issues. Once I can sort that out satisfactorily, I hope to do more again.

I actually have made progress with my garden/urban farm. I have very little that isn't edible. Its been a fun learning experience so far. =D

Yep, I started on this site so long ago my email was out of date and I couldn't remember squat about the password. I had to open a new account and add a little to the old handle. Not doing much in the garden other than maintenance, and not much of that.
