Plantation blinds or drapes

I would really do long drapes. Keep the height of your room. My cousin did something really cool with her drapes to make them long and beautiful. She took a long solid thick duponi silk curtain and added a beautiful crossgrain ribbon to the bottom of it and then used a shorter curtain of a different color and sewed it on the bottom. So, the curtain would be 3/4 a dark color or whatever color you wanted and then 1/4 another color to match your room. You could mix and match textures, solid/print, etc. Good Luck!

Because you have four windows that are close together I would keep it simple. Perhaps 2 inch wood blinds and a soft valance.

Roman shades or plantation shutters - half or full window. Accent color mid-tone green, coral or blue.

Roman Shades

You could do stationary panels at each side of the windows, or you could do Roman shades on all of the windows except the slider, and do a full drapery on the slider. Unfortunately, because you have so many windows it's going to be costly. Custom window treatments are like buying a piece of furniture, but well worth it for the look. That's why I said not to try to skimp on the window treatments. Or, you could do blinds with simple valances to add color. No ruffly valances, though.

Adding floor to ceiling drapes will create a rich look for the room. Throw pillows for two leather sofa chairs. I would also change the rug under the table to a bigger size rug. See attached images for ideas. Good luck!

The rug must be that size. It's a narrow but long room limiting me to width.

I would suggest something very tailored. I saw some suggestions like roman shades or a valance which would be perfect. I made some custom valances myself because I knew what I wanted and knew what it would cost to have them custom made. Just an idea.

I think that the stationary drapes are going to be overwhelming in this space. I would go for the custom valances or the roman shades. A colorful pattern that you like will give you the splash of color this room needs and then pull in those colors for a runner or floral on the table as well. If you decide to go with a roman shade, you can coordinate with a matching valance over the slider by the chairs, same fabric but different treatment. The addition of a couple of wall art pieces might help also, but pick your fabric FIRST. Best of luck.

add some long straight hanging curtain panels in an accent color. a few well placed not too small accessories and wall art and some accent pillows to the leather chairs. you are almost there!

Think you need some texture in there. Adding drapes in a linen fabric might help also maybe some baskets somewhere and some soft cushy pillows in the leather chairs. Maybe more artwork on the walls, in the form of black and white photos or sketches would bring a little bit of a "lived in " feeling and some warmth. The window coverings would help the most I think. Roman shades would look beautiful in your space. You can choose from so many different fabrics or do something simple-depending on the style of the rest of your house. Love curtains in dining rooms, but like roman shades in kitchens. Feels less formal....Great table.

Yes, roman shades are very expensive. My suggestion is to go to Lowes or Home Depot and get prices there....Since they are so expensive, I would choose something neutral-a material that you think you will love for a very long time. What is the accent color in your area rug? What other colors are in your home? Does your living room flow into your kitchen? All things to consider....If you post more pictures of other joining rooms, it will help. Good luck!
