a single handle works well but it makes the fixture look too deep and narrow when the handle is on the front or back, in a space that tends to be wide and shallow. (and when the handle is on the side, as in the kitchen sort, its on the right side and i have to keep reaching over with soapy hands to turn on the hot water when doing dishes). i think the two handle variety of faucet looks better in a vanity situation.
