Need help with bad transformer on can light

I have some Edison ET7493PW can lights that use MR16 bulbs in my kitchen. One light is no longer working and I'm betting it's the transformer. I can't find any type of part number on the transformer and can't find the exact lights for sale. They are probably old. Can I replace this one light with a different brand? What sort of things do I need to make sure of besides size???
