Bosch Benchmark Policy....

I live in the FL Keys, and we have very few options for Appliance stores, any shopping actually. We are doing a kitchen remodel, and I want to use our closest appliance store, and they carry all my choices. The problem came when I wanted the Bosch Benchmark Induction Range, and Benchmark Dishwasher. My local appliance store, which services Bosch appliances, cannot accommodate the required Benchmark appliance showroom (they are supposed to have so many Benchmark appliances on the floor). We are in the FL Keys, and showrooms are small, real estate and taxes are very high here. I visited a showroom in Miami to see the Benchmark Induction Range, but no one would even talk to us, even when we requested help (so what help is that?). I called Bosch and complained, and they agreed to sell me the appliances I want, for ONE TIME order with my local dealer. That is Crazy! My appliance dealer said she has lost sales to Bosch because they will not let her sell Benchmark, because she cannot display enough appliances on the floor. I know that Miami store didn't have the required number... but who knows.

My request to you, my GW friends, is to contact Bosch and request that they let Bosch Dealers sell Benchmark appliances, even though they do not have the required showroom display.

I knew what I wanted before I went there, most of us do. I need to support my local vendor, please help me with this request.

Thank you in Advance!

Ferguson in Miami has Benchmark on display as does Florida Builder Appliances. La Cuisine in Coral Gables also has a great Gaggenau/Thermador/Bosch display -- I am not sure if they have the new Benchmark in yet as I have not been in the store in a few months. I have ordered appliances from Florida Builder Appliances for our previous project and find they have great service and prices. Ferguson has a great showroom, but I have not ordered from them as it is relatively new. I just discovered La Cuisine Gourmet as they are the only appliance dealer with a Capital range on display and the sales personnel are knowledgeable and helpful. Maybe you should make an appointment with one of the stores in Miami. I find that you do get better attention with an appointment. Good luck!

I did call in advance and was told "No problem" having someone help us. I did see the Bosch Benchmark Induction Range I wanted to see. I went to the front desk and ask for someone to come help us, no one came in 20 minutes, we looked around during the wait, no one came. We asked again, and waited 5 minutes then left.

I do not want to have this range delivered from Miami to the FL Keys, huge shipping costs, as my local appliance store could deliver (they carry Bosch, but do not have the floor space to show all of the Benchmark appliances, so Bosch won't allow them to sell them....?!)

I know what I want to order, and want to order locally, have them deliver, and they are the Bosch certified repair center...

Please, if you find this a contradiction, or a problem, please contact Bosch and complain, so other Bosch dealers can sell Benchmark appliances.

    Thank you in advance!

We just purchased our wall oven/speed oven/dishwasher/flex induction online with free shipping even with the "range" limitation Bosch imposes. All I have to say is shop online and find a good return policy. Bosch is artificially trying to create a high demand by limiting distribution. We ended up saving almost $2100 plus the 10% rebate and the dishwasher rebate.

Wow mabranderson, I wish I had done that but I was too worried about buying them online! I had to drive 5 hours to New Hampshire (from Maine) to get my Benchmark double ovens and induction cooktop! Cudjoegal, believe me, I called Bosch several times expressing my extreme frustration that they were obstructing me from buying their appliances. What a crazy business practice! I have a great high end local dealer (they sell everything from Aga to Verona) but they didn't have a designated showroom for Benchmark (they dedicated their space to large Viking, Subzero, Thermador, and Wolf displays) so Bosch wouldn't let them sell it to me, even though they have a lot of Bosch on the floor! STUPID!

Yes, BirchPoint, I agree! It is a crazy business plan! They are in business to sell product, but make it difficult. I told the Bosch Rep I spoke with on the phone that I was being penalized for living in a remote area, that I would not drive the 3 + Hours to Miami to buy, and then pay the big delivery price to the Keys, when my local appliance store (which I want to support) sells and services Bosch. I told them that I would buy the Miele Induction Range, and Dishwasher, before I would drive to Miami. I told them Miele would sell to my local Appliance store, and they don't even have the franchise for Miele....(I am buying a Miele CSO). I guess they 'woke up' with that...who knows? I am going to write a letter to them, and try to convince them that this is a bad policy for their company. They need to rethink this, as plllog has suggested several changes.

Thank you for posting your experience...sorry you had that problem too.
