pinch-hitting for arum italicum?

Hello! My recently inherited shade garden has a bed full of arum italicum which are lovely from February to early summer. Then, of course, they vanish until the next February and the bed is empty. I've been trying to think of a plant with a reverse growing pattern that will emerge as the arum is piddling out, hopefully a perennial or a reliable self-sower that I don't have to fuss with setting out each year.
