Pictures to warm us up

So far I have 20 flats- a few plants I lost to applejuice. They are doing great and right on track except for a few that are big and almost ready to go outside.

That's all for now. I have to rearrange the shelving and set up more light sets and pot up 144 seedlings. Then I am going out to gather snow for watering.

I have a snow day so a 3 day weekend. Yay snow days.
    Y'all stay warm.

They look very nice. Your weather must be warmer than mine, I took our dog out a while ago and everything was frozen solid. The ice on the puddles would not support my weight but the soil in the garden and lawn was very hard.

thank you Larry the picture of hyacinth I took a couple weeks ago when it was warm. I covered it with a lot of mulch because it turned cold again. Today we are at 22 and 6" of snow! I have grow lights set up for all my seedlings in my dining room.

I hope to get some row cover to put my cabbages and broccoli out soon.

Kim, I missed starting any seeds this year. The area I have used in the past is in our master bath. We are cleaning that area out now to install a shower that I can roll a wheelchair into. My 90 year old mother now lives with us. As we get the house more handicapped friendly I expect to start growing plants again.

Oh thats good Larry. i wish my mother lived with me then i wouldnt worry so much. My mother is 80 and we are questioning how much longer she can live on her own. She can still fix her own meals but she can not do her own shopping and errands any more. I am 240 miles away so its hard for me.

I have my seedlings on a cheap shelf in the dining room with shop lights. I started with 2 lights and now have 10 and need 4 more. My son lives with me and my grandson comes for visits but they don't mind my mess. As long as I let my little man spritz the seedlings he is happy. I finally got him to quit eating them. I bought him his own box of baby spinach!

Maybe I missed something, but...how did you lose plants to apple juice, Kim?? :)

Oh my little man likes apple juice and he figured my babies would too. Since he always helps with watering and I was gone a couple days he helped me out. Apparently daddy wouldn't give him the water so he improvised. They didn't like it and I didn't know until it was too late sticky moldy and dying. We had a long talk about babies and how they only like water. He is such a good helper otherwise.

    and some fresh greens! LOL

Here we are with a current picture (Feb.28 2015)

Not sure, how to put pictures in the "correct sequence". But, this was my back yard last summer (2014)

    my back yard in 2013

Two month after I bought my house, I had already started eliminating Bermuda grass, and planting stuff I wanted!

Moni that is beautiful, except the snow it has me dreaming of spring. This year I am going to focus my garden at home on flowers and only a few veggies. I really was inspired by your yard last year and made a beautiful little bed that bloomed all summer.

Most of the plants in this bed were gifted by friends and I really enjoyed that. I bought the lantana on clearance for 50 cents and it ended up huge. I hope everything comes back this year.
