The Jackmanii benefits from a hard prune annually, so just whack it off to the second or third set of buds per stem and she will fill in fuller than previously. The Duchess, since she is type 2, can be trimmed back the same way, though you will lose the first flush of flowers for this year. However, it will still bloom, just later than usual since it is only on the new growth. Since I live in an area where often my type 2 get killed to ground level or at least the snow line, I always expect to just have one set of blooms. So I can testify that the D of E will be fine if you hard prune her this year. If you can keep a few longer vines that are in better shape you may get some early bloom as well as the later bloom.

I have no advice for you, but your trellis is so cool and recognizable and I think you may have posted pictures of New Dawn with your D of E before that were simply breathtaking! I'm sorry you had to get rid of New Dawn, but understand why she had to be chopped.

So I pruned them. The Jackmanii on the other trellis just got wacked off. I did a combo job on the type 2 Duchess of Edinburgh . The one coming up on the right sideof the trellis I prunned like a type 3 a few inches above the ground. On the left side I untangled the mess, kept a little less than half of it and attached it up that side of the trellis. Then I cut back the vines that didn't want to be untangled--so a half and half job.
