Aucuba japonica

Thanks! Can I plant it outdoors in Northern VA? Is it hardy enough for this area?

if they were rooted indoors... then they will need to be properly hardened off to temps and sunlight ... before they get stuck in the garden ....

i would probably pot those into one gal pots.. with proper media.. and grow out the roots and plant them in fall ..

just because they CAN go outside.. doesnt mean it the right time to do so ...

It can grow quite large but it doesn't produce runners or seedlings if that's what you mean. It's amenable to pruning and can tolerate neglect.

Aucuba should not be planted in the Fall in zone 7A unless it is maybe a 3-gallon vigorous plant.

Plant it in early summer as I said. It needs a growing season to settle in before the rigors of winter. But then it should be OK as long as it is in shade. If it gets sun it will burn up.
