It's a pre-war apartment with random beams under the concrete slab, we did not want to loose any ceiling heights just to have a flush appearance.

The beams of different height make the look in my opinion... This tiny kitchen would look compressed and ''squished'' and would loose much of its appeal with w flush ceiling. Always opt for higher ceilings...regardless of beams...go for height... always.

Congrats on a cool pad!! The table is a great idea, as island benches are a waste... Anyone know where these are made?? Cheers
