the remaining ones had turned brown like mine, but their newest shipment are all
green

then your shipment was damaged prior to shipment ... or at the store ...

and the new shipment wasnt .. return it ... trade them out ...

Well when I bought mine they looked great too, and their new shippment just arrived. The previous picture I posted is the worst one out of 10. I didn't water them much thinking with the cold weather they wouldn't need it. I have given them a deep watering in the last few days hoping they might not all get that brown. Most of them look like this new photo...still some brown at most of the tips. Is there hope these can green up, or is it downhill from here. I seem to have a black thumb. Thanks

That one looks OK.
Sometimes real healthy, reddish brown new growth can be mistaken for dead growth by beginners.....or pictures not taken close enough. :-)

'Smaragd' appearing at big boxes here every year are all quite apparently freshly - and perhaps carelessly - dug, often with tiny or broken balls, leaning tops etc. Warehouse stores are also poor about watering, so even if discount stock received from growers needing to empty fields or having other problems (including entering agreements with mega-chains that force them to sell at too low a price) hasn't been crippled by the approach taken to digging and shipping them there they may then dry out and die while waiting to go home with somebody.

dont give up ... return them for replacement ... and follow the above ...

these things are mass produced.. and in being done so .... have a lot of problems.. like circling or girdling roots.. etc ... as such.. they should proabably be bare rooted at planting.. and the roots fixed ...
