60's Ranch Facelift

last modified: 11 years ago

This 50's ranch was outdated and had no curb appeal. New windows, fresh paint, and green grass with a few plants made a huge difference!

Your house looks very nice and if you like how it turned out, even better. The only thing I would change is the first comment.

Your ranch absolutely looks better. I too am not a fan of shutters with no purpose other than place holders. I think the white trim on your windows is wide enough to provide the visual balance windows need. I think people add shutters for that purpose, when there could be other ways to achieve this visual balance they are looking for. I don't think the shutters are the worst that I have seen though.

it looks very neat and trim. the shutters are problematic size wise, but if you like them stick with them. the color ties them to the roof, a good thing.

I think the house looks great, I agree that the small windows are a bit of a problem but I think if you added some window boxes under them they wouldn't look so long and narrow , it would help to make them look more properly proportioned. You did a nice job!

you really improved the weather, too. come do that to my house please!

I like the black accent the shutters add, but I agree that they're too small. It shouldn't be too expensive to redo them in the right size.

I also love how much a well manicured geen lawn adds to he curb appeal of a home. It's one thing that tells me a home is well cared for.

The front porch also looks 100% better since it was stained. It looks fresh and new again. Good job!

Those small windows were problematic! Once the weeping cherry fills in it should help... That heavy green roof was too much for me without the shutters, but hey it sold in 2 weeks!
