Not having a problem with the Houzz take over why are you. Think the posting is much easier than before. I have not seen any of what you speak of. No one has tried to sell me anything. Sorry you are leaving.

Are these pop-ups that some people are getting? I block pop-ups, but I know they can be VERY annoying.

I do not know. I was getting popups and flashing videos so I downloaded ABP and also changed the style of this page and it is much easier for me. Some times the font out runs the block but even that seems to be better now. I use Google Chrome. I was getting the adds in the margins. Now I am viewing totally add free and loving it on every site I go to.

I found there's a few "pros" who are a little bit over-the-top with their posts, but really they were "hiding" in gardenweb too, just under homeowner-esque names. Now the "Pro" logo really stands out, so I just try to tune out the overly-snarky comments from said "pros".

(Many have good comments, but a few are more negative-nancys than constructive feedback.)

Gee, I missed this post until tonight. I don't show up regularly here these days. I have a little problem with the great big website, but I suppose GWeb was edging that direction too, just I knew how to keep focused on what I liked I think I've been a member since 2001?? Time sure does fly when you are having fun. I just put up a new Flickr album that is prettier than any I've done since my hostas went dormant! If I knew how to upload via Flickr, I'd post a picture here....the photos are still in my camera and not on the computer. Eventually I'll figure out the picture thingy. Like MamaG says, don't want to lose anybody. I feel that with Houzz we may see more folks posting in Smaller Homes. Thank goodness I still have a house well under 2000 square feet. More like 1350 is what I think.....not counting the separate Teahouse.

Ended up having to set up a new user name but actually prefer the new site.

I had a problem at first, but I think it's because I already had a houzz account under a different name and email. But Tamara straightened it out for me. I probably should have asked her to drop the 8a from my name, but then again, maybe the zone is needed again on the garden forums like it was when I first joined GW.

It now says I have been a member since 2004 but I know I was here as soon as I got a computer in 2000. Not to small house but to Garden junk. I think I had a name change in 2004 when I crashed a computer and lost passwords so just started over. I used to be Tucker 1949. Back in the beginning. Oh well. I am not concerned how long it shows I have been here.

I am slowly getting used to the new look and I love changing the background with Stylish.

Never heard of Stylish, but all this white makes me squint. So I am interested in a less stark color
