Wall Color Help!!

Recently painted these paneled walls but I am having second thoughts on the color. I was thinking of taking out the paneling and then painting, but I do like the look you can get with the right color on paneling. The rest of our home is a grey and blue of different varieties.

Painted panels add a nice texture to the space. If the color is not what you wanted, can you pick a color from any art or area rug you plan to put in the space? It may just be that it is really the color in the adjacent space that is bothering you with the panel paint color.

The space currently has white built in shelving and a white-washed brick fireplace. There is a very light gray rug there. No furniture in that room as we have yet to decide how to best make the lay out still feel open between this room and the living room next to it.
