Calanthe Grouville (Super Semi x 'Long John')

This is one of the Eric Young Foundation Calanthe hybrids. All the leaves are gone, blooming mow, followed by a brief period of rest then new bulbs with leaves and new spikes starting in December.

Finally one of the 3 spikes is fully open. One of my favorite plants.

Calanthe Kinteroi 'Waterfield Rasberry', another one of the Eric Young foundation Calanthe hybrids. I have 3 of them, the third being a pure red one I posted earlier. There are more but next to impossible to find. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has seen any of them, need to track them down. I have bgackbulbs of these 3 to trade but will do so only for other Calanthe hybrids.

3 open, 5 more to come. These photos looks like they are Photoshopped (which is something I don't know how to do) but it's not. The colors are strong and stunning. I wish I could find more of these. I'm going to a species society meeting tomorrow. They might have to hold their noses but they are going to see this.
