I am trying to decorate my living room. My husband bought the majority of the furniture while he was still living alone, and so I am trying to work with what we have. Our furniture is all very nice, but I think everything matches too much. The couches are a light sage green, and the coffee table, end table, and TV stand are all from a matching set, a dark espresso wood. I feel like I just really need something to pop in this room, and that is what I am trying to establish with the decor. I found these couch pillows online and really liked them. I kind of bought them on a whim, but now I am wondering if they really work with the room. I still plan to buy another set of pillows to go behind the chevron ones, but I am having a hard time finding something that compliments these. I am starting to wonder if I should stick to something more neutral, and if using a bold color like the red might force me to find that exact color in another part of the decor as well, such as the curtains, rug, etc? Do you think these couch pillows work? I haven't really been able to find many other references with these color schemes. We have light hardwood floors and I plan hang sconces on each side of the mirror, and I've made a gallery wall on another side of the room which is not pictured. I also plan to purchase a shag rug and window treatments soon. Any ideas on how to get started with this living room decor? I initially thought earth tones would work best since there is so much brown/green in the room, but from photos that I've seen with similar colored furniture, it looks like a lot more neutrals are being used, which I'm not opposed to. I've never decorated my own place before, but I really want to make this place look and feel more like home, instead of just looking like a showroom. Would love any/all advice! Thanks!
