I haven`t grown this but have seen it mentioned as a good hummingbird plant. If you type in pentas in the Search in GardenWeb.... box and click on pentas in Hummingbird Garden you will find lots of comments, recommendations etc for the best type to try.

I have been researching Pentas seems the short variteys dont have as much necter as the taller pentas.I have found a variety LSU has grown called Butterfly Pentas super plant.Would like to get a few of those .Im sure i wont find them in Arkansas .Maybe online.

You are correct about the taller varieties having more nectar. I have a dark pink tall variety that butterflies and hummers love. The 'Butterfly series' pentas you mentioned are also very good. I grow the 'Butterfly Light Lavender' and it is a butterfly magnet. I live in north central Arkansas and I found 'Butterfly series' at a local nursery, so just keep looking for them.

You will need to keep them dead headed weekly. I found them very easy to grow.
