I hope there's undercabinet lighting so that all work isn't done in shadow.

I have under cabinet, inside glass door, recessed and pendants. All on dimmers if needed. I dont know what you mean about my space being chopped up.

Not finished with the kitchen project -- but the Cambria Berwyn is in and it is stunning. Yes, definitely cream and grey, but subtle taupe going on as well. Are cabinets are Sherwin Williams Alabaster, glass tile by Tomei, color is Haze. Using antique brushed nickel hardware. Floors are a medium color bamboo. Island is stained walnut. We love it. Waiting for doors an drawers to be installed, and then I'll post the before and after. So exiciting. Oh wall colors are SW's truly taupe.

Love this thread on Berwyn! Saw it in Parade of Homes the other day and it was love at first sight. Building next year; Berwyn is the 1st domino to fall in the kitchen... cabinet color, island base, wall color are the next ones to topple... off whites and greys!

I have chosen Cambria's BERWYN quartz for the master bath vanity and shower threshold. Room floor will be 5" hex Carrera and the shower floor is also Carrera hex but smaller. I am now thinking about paint color. I thought I would use one of the Benjamin Moore recommended colors "revere pewter" but afraid it might not be gray enough but too beige. Comments?? or other paint recommendations for the Berwyn quartz.

Benjamin Moore is over rated. Typically, an old school painter suggests them (from the 70's) Home Depot paint "Behr" is just as good, they laser match the color perfectly for 1/3 the price. I just did a full renovation inside and out and saved a ton of money for frankly equal to or better quality. Google Paint ratings. Behr ranks #1

I'm bitterly unhappy with the Berwyn installed in my home. A friend of mine installed it in her home and I fell in love with it. I have beige tile everywhere in my home and I needed something that would match it. The sample in the store where she bought hers, was perfect for my house and I was thrilled. It had swirls of beige that were wonderful. Unfortunately, there is no color control at Cambria. The slabs installed in my house have virtually no beige and look more grayish/pinkish. They clash with my walls and floors in the bathrooms (the first place installed). My contractor who had seen the sample, said the finished product looked like something that belonged in a little girl's bathroom with pinks and greys. It doesn't match the sample. The Cambria rep in Orlando, was very rude and told me I couldn't come see them or look at other slabs for the rest of the house. He told me they wouldn't help me. They don't have color control at Cambria, so it is a crap shoot for what you might get. Beware.

I think we're still planning on Berwyn for the island and something else for the countertops. I'm into mixing and matching now.... anyone have any thoughts/advice on a laminate that might coordinate w Berwyn?

Hi Cambria, yes I've spoken to two people from Cambria and they just give me corporate speak about how each sheet is unique and you can't expect it to be the same as the samples. Basically sorry, Charlie. The first rep I told you about is the one the customer care people put me in contact with. The 2nd one is checking to see if they will let me come pick out my slabs to replace the two remaining ones. They won't do anything about the 3/4 slab I have left from the bathrooms. The painters were just here and before I could say anything they said "boy that granite doesn't match very well, where did I get it?"

Yes I wish I had found this advice section before I bought the quartz. I would have been much more cautious. I was too trusting that they delivered what they advertise. The sample on their website is an example of what they advertise and give samples of, but you won't get that. Cambria has no quality control to insure colors, so you have to somehow get to a distribution center to find what you are looking for. Or in my case you have to have them ship a slab, send it back and get another one, over and over till you find something that matches the sample you are looking for. That they also don't care about customer satisfaction is disappointing. I'm curious if anyone has ever had them stand up to their warranty? My guess is they would blame any failures on the client that they didn't followed the care instructions.

From other threads, blaming users or installers seems to be their first line of service. It does look like often times they do the right thing. I see no pink in my Berwyn but I imagine it is in the beige. It sounds like their mixing was off, bad enough when it happens to a paint can but not acceptable with Quartz. For my next project I will really have to debate, I love Cambria but have a hard time doing business with companies that don't give great service and an even bigger issue with companies who boast about their great service but don't give it. My experience with them was inconsequential and after me being shocked and annoyed the rep did the right thing but it tainted me to them. These threads show that my experience was not isolated. When you go to look at your slabs at a location with a big sign that says Cambria Country, it is surprising to hear that Cambria doesn't directly distribute in your state!

I just installed Berwyn from Cambria Quartz and absolutely love it. It sparkles beautifully and really stands out. The ease of use couldn't be easier, no sealing. Just clean up with soap and water. To test their claims that you can't hurt it, we mixed spaghetti sauce and red wine and left it on a sample overnight. Just wiped with a wet paper towel and there was no stain. I am sold!!

Are your cabinets white or soft cream? Can I ask what you chose for your backsplash? We just installed soft cream (looks white) cabinets and are trying to choose a backsplash with our Berwyn.

Our cabinets are white, our back splash are 3 x 12 handcrafted white subway tiles with pale gray grout.

We are going with the Cambria Berwyn with white cabinets. Next choice is wall color. What brand and color paint did you use. Your combo looks great

I am getting Berwyn for my countertops and have a few questions:

(1) There will need to be a seam in my island. I'm wondering if anyone here has a seam with that countertop and can tell me if it's noticeable or looks ok?

(2) For backsplash, I'm leaning towards Lunada Bay Tile Tomei in either Horizon or Canvas (probably Horizon, Canvas is too similar to my white cabinets) and am thinking I want to play with varied tile sizes to add some interest besides just monochrome subway tile (I think multiple colors might be too much next to the very noisy counter), a pattern (maybe even a Herringbone variation) mixing up 3x6, 3x9, and/or 3x12 tiles. Has anyone done something similar? I would love photos!

I have Berwyn in my kitchen and needed a seam on the counter portion, not my island. It’s really not very noticeable at all. The countertop is beautiful. I absolutely love it! Our cabinets are a very light grey so I went with a white subway tile for the backsplash and a muted greenish

paint color for the walls.

I'm so upset. We just installed berwyn in our kitchen , but i hate the way our back splash looks with it. Looking at everyone's pictures just solidifies that I made a mistake with our back splash.

Jcampi - same thing happened to us. We installed a totally wrong backsplash. Ripped it out and just installed a white beveled edge subway tile in staggered pattern and its amazing the difference it makes! Cabinets looks more cream in this photo than they are

We are doing white shaker cabinets with herringbone white subway tile and gray grout. It just looks awful... (the cabinets aren’t painted white yet). I definitely want to redo the backsplash, but haven’t decided to what.

We did almost the exact same backsplash to start!! So funny. it was a gorgeous backsplash but the harringbone pattern just clashed bad with the counters and our came out looking so blue.

Kristina, I don't see your after photo. The herringbone doesn't look so bad to me, but it's not my kitchen (we're all bigger critics of our own stuff). I was thinking a light gray glass tile with white grout, but not married to herringbone. The simple staggered brick pattern seems to be the popular choice.

Sara, don't order your backsplash until the counters are installed then put samples next to it to see how it looks in your kitchen. I have glass tiles, they look almost clear but once installed and the grout added they are a bit darker. They look great with the counters. They do have a bit of a pattern to them but it doesn't compete with the counters.

I love my Cambria berwyn with handcrafted white subway (pale grey grout). The subtle sparkle is what sold me.

Sara, i am attaching a picture from the box of my tiles. They have multiple shapes in this line. I also have a picture of the tile on berwyn before instslling, the shade was a bit different off the wall. It isn't an issue but with glass tiles they do change with instillation and then again when the grout went in.

Thanks, Kristina, you can barely tell! Having it be just a short segment by the sink probably helps a lot. I'm going to need a pretty long seam in my island (L-shaped, no sinks or cooktops) and I'm anxious about how it will turn out.

What is the brand of your clear backsplash tile? I see you put a picture of the box, but didn't catch the brand name.

I googled Captiva white caps and the tile pictures showed up. I will look for my invoice and see if it says anything more. I bought them at a small tile store,. I got in there and five minutes later, I knew I was going to use one of those tiles just not sure which shape.

I found my receipt, it says Diamond Tech Captiva the color is White Caps. The color does look a bit different when on the wall, I imagine in a brighter room it would look different from mine.

Dale - Where did you get your pulls? I love them!

Circling back now that our kitchen is done and we love it! Cambria berwyn counters with white cabinets, brushed nickel pulls and sink hardware, black quartz elkay sink, light gray backslash, black stainless appliances, and engineered hardwood "garrison II walnut smooth". Our last thing is to get nice stools for the big L-shaped island.
