Furniture layout?

This is what our office/livingroom/whatever else room usually looks like. I'm thinking about moving the couch to the wall where the bookshelves are and the bookshelves to the wall on the left. But moving the shelves is enough of a project to make me want to think through it first, rather than just moving things around as I normally do. Ideas? Thank you!

I would keep the shelves where they are. Are they adjustable?

Edit the room. Take out everything you do not need or use. Then take more photos for us to help you.

Yes, there adjustable. They are elfa shelves, if that helps.

Also the room is supposed to be a dining room, I think. It's just off the kitchen.but in our little, tiny house, there's not really anywhere to but the computer, our books, and such.

And we use everything, regrettably because I love purging. Except for the coffee table, the height of the table drives me bananas.

The shelves are fine. Try replacing the coffee table whose height you do not like.

Place like things together. I can see that the shelves on the right can be raised quite a bit. After doing that center the art in that space.

I love to see that people actually use they house and not just stage it to look like a model. That being said, can you paint the wall behind your shelves to a whitish color to match the shelves? Thing the difference in colors makes the shelves look very temporary. As for your coffee table, I'd be on the look out for a white coffee table or perhaps 2 little parsons tables that can work as a coffee table. That would tie your room together better and help with your sanity. lol

Oh - and be on the lookout for something to put on the green wall opposite the couch. Maybe even a mirror.
