I need to know what color to paint flooring. They are too bad to refinish. There were multiple layers of vinyl and that will be removed. Will also sand floors if I can.... The walls are painted gray (Valspar 4005-1-B Gravity and Trim is White. I was thinking Navy. But think a lighter shade won't show the floors defects as much. Please HELP...

This is a tiny little 1940's era tenant house on a family farm that my husband and I are turning into a guest house for too many reasons to list on this site. Empty is better than having people pay renting it. The main house needs all new wiring, and we just had new roofs and windows put on both houses. I will never get a new car or go to Disneyland.... but that's ok. I'm just looking for a inexpensive temporary fix for a clean look until I get past the major expenses. Did I mention it has no heat or air. I can worry about that later too.

A friend has offered to paint a board to attach to the front of closed off fireplace that will look like a logs and fire in the fireplace. I think there is a fancy name for things like this...but I'm just happy to have talented friend to offer this.

ps... the ugly carpet is gone, this room has good sub flooring. one room has old painted hardwood floor.. ugliest green I've ever seen. It is now speckled with lots of grey and white paint from my not so neat painters. it actually improved the look and covered up some of awful green.
