Ever thought of painting your fireplace and mantel? Also changing the room color?

Don't paint brick....remove tv & put at a better viewing level.

The tv above the fireplace is often the best solution for a room, and can look nice, but you don't have the height for it, as your tv is almost to the ceiling, and that doesn't look nice. Maybe paint the mantle a pretty cream color to create some contrast. The tv might need to move to a cute stand. I would probably change the wall color to a light khaki color.

I would find a way to not have toys cluttering up that otherwise lovely fireplace. I love the curve of the opening, and brick is a nice mix of color, not like the bright red ugly bricks most people want to paint.

TV over fireplace is never the best solution.

While I agree with ALL the comments so far, you might actually want to keep the natural brick AND the location of the TV. The first thing I would suggest is to create a box of some kind (decorative) to corral all those cords. I think cords are the worst offenders!

It's hard to tell if you can move the t.v. when we don't have a pic of the rest of the room. If you had another place to put it, I would move it. The problem I see is that it takes up the whole wall above the fireplace.

The problem is the wiring and that sound bar , if you could get an Electrician to install an outlet behind the TV you will not see it ,for the sound bar I would get a little shelf wide and long enough to accommodate the sound bar on it ,get it black so it will blend in . Remove the red candle and all the CD's from the mantle its too much distraction .
