What is it, exactly, is it just a window into another room? Is it necessary? Can you just remove it and replace it with nothing and trim it out with molding to match all your other moldings? And are we looking at it from the hallway?

Thank you for your comment. It is an internal feature window. The kitchen/meals area is on the other side. Yes we are looking at it from the hallway. We had thought about doing a white frame with frosted glass panels. I wasn't quite sure about more white frames though or whther we go a silver colour?

IMO, your frames should match all the other moldings in the house, as they really are a type of molding. Doing this will unify all your trim pieces. Have you thought about making it into a half wall? Doing this would really open things up.

Could you remove the middle struts and have one solid panel of glass/acrylic on either side of the frame? You could then even possibly create a light box by placing a light inside the cavity, the bulk of the framing would be covered and you could even place a large decal or paint something on the panel and turn it into illuminated art work:)

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas! I do like the thought of the frosted glass and maybe as cguigan suggested removing the middle panels? and as olldbobbi suggested keeping white frames in sync with the rest of the painted woodwork.
