I want to redo my kitchen, from cabinet to floor. need to ask if wooden floors a practical choice or tiles?

If tiles, how is ceramic tile different from porcelain tile?

It is a small kitchen, will medium dark brown cabinets look good?

my kitchen area is half open idea, it is visible from sitting room and very close to entrance of the home. I am changing carpet of the living room with wooden floors. Most probably in medium dark brown. Does the entrance area advisable to have tiles or can be wooden too?

I am in Canada, so keep in mind the weather conditions.
