I think the bed placement is just as you suggested . What size bed? Go with one with a headboard or you could make one to attach to the wall rather high behind the bed. You could use old doors with the same painting treatment stated earlier. Use a poufy white cotton comforter.

If using nightstands don't go matching. One can be a small metal garden table. Just make sure if using bedside lamps they end up the same height, which should be 32" high, base & shade. Stack four bed pillows at the head in two stacks. Lean against the stacks two Euro size dark coral & teal matching fabric. (you can buy the material & cover pillow fillers.) Place a soft yellow long lumbar pillow in front of the grouping in the center, (you can cover it as well yourself.) I would use a small pattern for the Euro covers & you can use a geometric for the lumbar.

It depends on the type of bed whether you use a skirt or not. If bare iron legs don't use a skirt. Stretch a soft yellow, coral or teal blanket or throw at the foot of the bed. Buy $3.99 a pair 98 X 111 meshy net white cotton sheers from Ikea to hang from rods as high as the length of them allows. Buy as many pairs to make them extremely full. Pick a personal photo you enjoy looking at and have it enlarged to about 30 X 30. Mat & frame it to hang on the wall you can see the best from your bed. What do you think?
