Leptotes is a species native to Paraguay and southern Brazil Its flowers and fruits are used as a substitute for vanilla in milk and ice cream.

This is a very small, grassy type orchid. Hard to photograph. The foliage is similar to Brassavola but the flowers are quite different. They tend to clump and face downward making it hard to photograph.

I bought it last year and this is the first bloom for me. Very pretty and delicate and does smell of vanilla.
