Hi all

New to orchids.

Background - have access for $5 orchids from local nursery that specializes in making beautiful orchid arrangements. These plants are the old finished blooming plants that get returned for a blooming orchid. So some are overwatered, in old medium. The nursery resales these orchids.

This particular one and several others I've bought have these brown spots on the roots. Is the plant sick?

I'm adding 3 shots of this plant. It is growing in an east facing room about 10 feet from the windows. Water when almost dry with room temp water. No new growth of arial roots etc. leaves look good but not sure about these top roots.
