Get OUT! That is NOT the same room, this is so cool. The backsplash is perfect! So's the pooch. He approves of his own dining nook. I love how YOUR dining nook seems like a cafe corner.

I have to agree - that cannot!!! be the same room, and the eating area looks so much bigger. The benches with storage is such a good idea and I really like the glass cabinets over the sink, another great idea. It's so well planned out and so pretty. You must be so pleased with the new space.

Nancyjwb- we have Marianna soapstone. We went in to showroom not thinking we'd get a soapstone sink. So glad we did! It seems to be the first thing people notice. We had two options. Option 1 -have a custom built sink from a block of soapstone(this way out of our price range) option 2- joe at philadelphia soapstone prefabricates a bunch of sinks at once. We picked this option for $850. We love it! However, it's not for the cook who wants a perfect looking kitchen. We do a lot of cooking with cast iron. We have nicks and scratches but really only noticeable if you look for them.

Sorry my phone posted pic sideways! We would have loved pull out shelving. Wasn't in the budget. I like to think of it as a First World problem and enjoy what I have:)

Wow! Really nice, I like the contrasting subways and grout too. I wanted to use a darker grout with my beige subways, but deferred to my husband on that. I am happy with how it turned out, but still, I like how the contrast defines the tiles. Beautiful job!

Great example of what darker grout can do to white subway tile! Love the addition of the darker gray tiles too. Great choices all around.

I noticed you wrote "meh" next to your KA appliance selection. Are you not happy so far?

KA refrigerator was delivered with a rather large hole inside. Had to be a squeaky wheel to get a new one delivered.

KA wall oven-used self clean option once..... heard a loud pop. Had to have fan replaced. Fan still makes a very loud noise. Can't seem to get the temperature to 450 and stay there.

I just love this kitchen. It's so comfortable and warm and pleasant looking. The floors are gorgeous. The backsplash is fabulous. And, of course, what's a kitchen without a great dog? :)
