refrigerator side paneling question

I am in the process of having an IKEA kitchen installed and am running into a dilemma w the side panelling for the fridge. The fridge is about 28-29 inches deep (without door.) there is a 24" deep cabinet on top of fridge.

Although it's IKEA, the contractor is willing to customize panels for me but I'm not sure what looks the best. The problem is this is an old building and the floor and ceiling are not totally level and the walls are not totally perpendicular to floor and ceiling. So a 24" deep panel that is flush w top cabinets will be at a slight angle along the side of the fridge. A 28" deep panel that is aligned w the side of the fridge would mean the top cabinets would be recessed 4". We are discussing custom cutting a thin piece of plywood which we eill paint that will be 24" inches deep on top and then 28" deep where the fridge is. I've attached a picture of an attempt to use two panels - one for fridge and one for top cabinets - which didn't work well but gives you an idea of what I am dealing with. Just not sure if it is better to pick one panel depth and have it be a straight line (either 24" or 28" all the way and at a slight angle to either fridge or cabinet) - or one panel w a corner cut out to match different depths and angles?

Thanks so much!!!
