What is the design/décor in your home? It is more about that than what everyone else does. If you have a more clean modern style to your furnishings & décor, I would choose the cabinets you like. I am afraid many designers do the same thing over and over...or because it's a trend..or safe. I believe everyone's home should reflect THEM. It should be unique to them. It should reflect who THEY are..and not what some designers choose. I believe everyone's home should reflect who THEY are.

I switched from another brand to Latitudes after seeing the display at Lowe's because I liked the european stying altho I chose a traditional style with some contemporary accents like aluminum-framed lift-up cabinets . I agree, go for what you like!

I'm wondering the same thing. Did you end up going with the Latitude?

I have gone ahead and purchased the Latitude cabinets - European style. My bathroom will be remodeled in July & I will give an update then & post photos. So far from what I can see when I take off some packaging, they look good.

Thinking of the latitude too for the kitchen but can't see many reviews re their quality. Lowes also says they haven't sold enough to tell. What did you find out about their quality?

We saw the latitude yesterday…we were about to reface our old cabinets in a modern flat panel walnut, with matched horizontal grain. Got a quote from a local carpenter for $8,400 to do that (L-shaped kitchen...not too big), then saw the Latitude. Thinking about the espresso base cabinets with the Waves or Glossy white in the espresso case for the top cabinets…seems pretty economical. We have a very modern house, variegated wood floors with orange couch, mid-century mod coffee table, etc…having a hard time making a decision on the kitchen…there is brownish large porcelain tile on the floor in there now and Viking Stove, hood, and Dishwasher, stainless GE Monogram Fridge which we are not planning on moving. Reface in Walnut (we have a lot in the house) or go new??

Ok had my kitchen done in Lattitude September. Very disappointed. The modern slab cabinets do not line up well. The draws are flimsy and do not operate as envisioned and promised. The spaces between draws and cabinets vary making the modern look pathetic. The slab fronts are pretty but cabinets overall are not well made. We cannot finish the kitchen with counters because the company is still trying to correct the imperfections. We had no kitchen for Thanksgiving and will not have one for Christmas. We will most likely be returning this poorly perceived product.

Overall I'm pleased with how our bath remodel has turned out using Latitude cabinets. Our kitchen in the UK has Poggenpohl cabinets but here in the U.S. I wanted the look without the price tag and feel I have achieved this with Latitude. The contractor didn't have any bother installing them and the doors and drawers line up. However I would not use Latitude for a kitchen remodel. Although the quality is substantial enough for a bathroom I do not think the quality of the drawers would stand up to the heavy use they would get in a kitchen in my opinion. I would definitely use Latitude when I remodel the guest and jack'n'jill bathrooms.

mrvonline...Do mind posting some photos. I have to remodel my entire kitchen due to water leak. I designed and manufactured high end furniture. I am disabled now and do not have the luxury to look around too much. I love the look of the cabinets. Any feedback will be great.

We are doing remodel in our house, decided to go with Latitude from Lowe's as they claim to be all wood and quality, etc. Please safe your self your money and go with the company that actually does quality. None of the cabinets line up, my husband and I both want to cry at how much money we spent on it (we have pretty big kitchen and 4 bathrooms). My husband is trying to get Latitude employee to come and fix the cabinets. However, Latitude cabinets don't line up, some of the doors are oversized and just don't fit & open right. We also got lots of wood torn out on the shelves, scratches on the doors, etc. What a mess we got ourselves into. Latitude doesn't do better quality then their half priced competitors do, so just stick w/ them and half of your money in your pocket. Do not choose Latitude. (I know this is kind of late response but thought maybe someone will be looking into them and decided to post to help out)

I am the middle of a Latitude installation and is very poor. We also want to cry after the investment we made which was not cheap. Has anyone had any luck in returning the kitchen to Lowes and could give us some pointers on this. The contract clause waives any liability from them. Look forward to your feedback.

You might need a good contractor -- I did a kitchen with this line and had no difficulty (although I found that the soft-close doors sort of made me crazy)...

I've had plenty of kitchens through Lowes, but I never use their installers for anything. However, for the Latitude line, your contractors have to have some experience with cabinets that don't come all assembled. (Doors that don't line up, though, should be fixable from the hinges! no excuse.)

So whom did you use to install it? Did Lowes allow to have someone else install the kitchen for you? They are claiming that if air conditioner was not on that this could contribute to the problem we are seeing + since house sits on a pier and beam they are using that detail as another leverage to justify the misalignment seen till now. To give them the benefit of the doubt they are still from what it appears interested in making this repair work and that gives me a relief, but I'm still undetermined what is going to happen next since they are going to send a new and supposedly more experienced installer to take a look at the installation and provide his feedback.

I like your countertop. What did you use? What is the amount of overhang in front and to the sides? How thick us it? Is it an eased-edge? Did you install any islands?

We had Latitude cabinets installed about a month ago, I love them. LOVE THEM!! My neighbor had a similar, modern style custom built and I thought hers would probably look much nicer, more custom, but in the end, I think I like mine much better. Main reason is that mine are not painted - they have a finish and it is so smooth (hers are painted). Ray at our Lowes store did a great job laying out our kitchen (it involved a wall removal), and now I have a lot of space. I do wish I had wider, more horizontal cabinets, but in the particular layout, I could see why I had to have more vertical cabinets (based on my space). I have a mix of white and the island is the laminate wood with border white panels. My backsplash has not been installed yet, so I can post pics soon. Also to say that my husband and his father (carpenter by trade) installed ours. I did hear from one of the girls at Lowes that they had issues with their current installer. Luckily my husband and his dad are perfectionist and I have cabinets that line up well and we adjusted doors for even spacing.

We had a bad experience with our installation and are still 2 months later still working on repairs. The key is to make sure you have a good installer. The assigned installer did not level and from there everything went wrong. Lowes had to switch installers. I strongly recommend that you check the credentials of the installer and make sure he has experience installing frameless cabinets. Our kitchen is starting to look good, but it was a painful experience.

I think the consistent key we are seeing in this thread is to hire your own installer, and be sure they've got a good track record with euro style, framless cabinets. I've been told by Lowes that these framless cabinets can be a bit more tricky to install than traditional frame-style, so just beware. We are ordering a 10' run of Latitude cabinets, and will have our own contractor (who does only cabinetry) install. I will post pictures when done in a couple of months!

At the end. Lowes and I reached a financial settlement because they did not want to fix everything. They said that if I wanted to go all the way and dispute the job that we would have to involve lawyers. So we settled instead. They pid me for the kitchen sink wall cabinets and sent me 1 new side panel that was defective and did not want to replace. They preferred to let me go it on my own. Lesson learn in deed is to go with someone whose specialty is frameless cabinets. Custom kitchen designers are the way to go here. Best of luck. I have tons of pictures before and after. The initial misalignment was to cry for.

I am doing a kitchen remolding with Lowes. I ordered Latitude cabinets shaker style white paint on top Bourbon on bottom. After installing cabinets I noticed cracks at the joints on the doors were the notches are. They told me since we live in Las Vegas that it is dry, so that cracking is normal for Vegas. I told them that I want new doors and that they were to replace them

Now they tell me that I ordered 2nd grade cabinets and to upgrade they will be $500.00 more. Why didn't they tell me that there are problems with the company quality workmanship? Has anyone else have this problem with Latitude and Lowes?

2nd Grade!!! I'd be furious if a company sold me a product and then claimed it was inferior after making the sale!

Telegraphing the joins between cabinets components is 1000% normal in every climate. Unless you buy plastic cabinets. Wood is hygroscopic. It moves with moisture content.

I ordered the frameless Moda cabinets. The guy who did the installation did a lousy job. His boss claimed that my foundattwas shifting and that if I did not have the AC wirking that the doors would naturally shift. I have them a hard time and contested their piss poor answer and had several meetings at the house including the store manager until they brought in another guy who was experienced with frameless cabinets. He corrected about 90%, but the remaining 10% they opted to pull out and settled financially and fame me the panel.boards (at my request) to do the correction myself.

Beware. They do not have experience installing this type of cabinet. I recommend you go with a smaller company or Snaidero who specializes in this kind of work. This investment is not cheap by all means. I paid $30k upfront and got a lot of headaches. I'm still remodeling my place and have not lived in it. I still yet have to see if the correction work will last.

Our Lowes in Santa Clarita farms out the work to
professionals. They did an AMAZING installation job. We tried making our own
cabinet fronts in Maple MDF, was nice with the horizontal grain stretching
across the span of the cabinets, and realized that after we had the counter top
installed (level) the the floor was actually on a pretty serious slope. Very
visible! Tried cutting the doors at the bottom on an angle to disguise it but
the drawers were our eventual downfall. Had to rip it all out. Went with the
Latitude and the installer really rocked it! So, you need to make sure that you
get a reference for exactly who is putting in the cabinets for Lowes.

I’m waiting (patiently still) for them to release some
interesting door colors such as ORANGE!!! ;0

Our Latitude cabinets in our kitchen are now installed- look amazing. Zero issues. Latitude followed up super fast on one issue and we received a new drawer in a week. Key is definately on the install- get a good installer with experience. The fine tuning of the doors to get them level is important. But the quality of the product and customer service are both very good!

Thanks for all the comments. We're building a house and are debating Ikea vs Latitude. We also stumbled upon these at Lowes (They were kind of hidden) but fell in love with the laminate wood grain and textured glossy white. For those of you that had issues...was it primarily mis-aligned doors? I do know and echo other's that big-box installers don't get paid much. They're not exactly motivated to fix things. We'll definitely be using our own builder (if I don't just do it myself). And frameless cabinets do take a lot of nitpicky hinge tweaking to get everything aligned.

For those of you that have compared these with Ikea, what do you think of the quality of the hardware (hinges and slides)?

Darrel Austin...which cabinets did you end up choosing and how do they look/perform? We are currently looking at Latitude as a kitchen cabinet option for a contemporary look, but some of these reviews indicate that an experienced installer is the key. What was your experience?

HI Darrel, I don't remember what they are called but we have several uppers that have doors that go up and a great spice drawer.. They are a dark-ish walnut semi-modern wood. They work really well and look beautiful. Just do not spill water on the inside surfaces...under a sink...it'll peel!

yours looks similar to mine! I love the look of mine but the installers and Lowes were inept and had to return MANY times for various issues. These were installed a year and a half ago and I'm still having issues with one door sagging. No amount of adjusting or hinge replacement has addressed it.

Anyone know where I would post a question regarding finding a better hinge to address this?

They ARE tiles in an odd shaped 12x12 ...they came from Spain...I got them from CA tile in Newhall, CA

Ordered and installed Latitude in Bathroom. Same as others say, Lowes does not really promote or sell many, (now some locations dropped line) so i was a guinea pig, but they did a good job designing and suggesting, and Latitude offers many options not just colors, but drawer configurations. You can go on their site and check out the whole catalog -so you can do your homework yourself and see styles, metal doors, lift up,, etc. But MUST order thru lowes. I did the COASTAL color as shown here and we installed ourselves, Hub is handy and dad was a cabinet maker, and we had the usual problems with cabinets, just lining them up and using the little adjusting tools under drawer or on hinge to fine tune. We only had 3 bottom boxes though and 2 high. I think Euro cabinets in general must be tough to get those 1/8 inch spaces exactly perfect, but we eventually did with patience and my husband lying under them for a couple hours, I suspect an installer would not have had that patience in someone else's home. You have to look hard to see any slight difference in the lines. I think the people posting pics of the out of whack alignment may have not used these adjusting mechanisms before, and it takes some time and patience but not bad. Actually the only cabinet that was a trickster was the 4 drawer base we ordered- which is an awesome configuration with 3 small and 1 large drawer on bottom- but a bear to get lined up but that just comes with territory. . We had that one wall box come in askew and they switched sent us a new one, perfectly square, so all good. I Love the look and this set shown was actually, nice feel, nice closures, nice space with the Euro design, all panels came in sized correctly, and really pretty and unique color and feels nice. So far, only a few months but t is great in the bathroom. Im not sure about Kitchen but imagine looks as nice as many of these flat panel deals these days. I heard these were one step up from Ikea...and seem it from what i saw in showroom there. Also i upgraded to the plywood boxes cause the Lowes guy said do it. I think great and relatively easy and hope Lowes continues to offer as a contemporary option.

You need an experienced installer. Frameless cabinets can twist when installed Improperly and the doors and drawERS will be out of alignment. When properly installed, the doors and drawERS are easily adjustable. Theres nothing wrong with the brand. There are many, many, many many cabinet companies and they perform very, very similarly. You need and experienced installer...

You are right. Lowe’s tried, but eventually gave up. They did not honor the complete job and opted to financially settle. I was stunned to see that they were not willing to pull it together to salvage reputation, but was told that I was one of those small % cases that was not worth fighting for .

Our kitchen came out beautifully with Latitude cabinets. However, we had a very competent installer, which I believe is the key.
