A little trip to Az.

Hi all,

I have been wanting to post this pictures, but didn't want them to come out sideways. Finally had a chance today to upload the pictures.

I went to Az a few weeks ago around March 6. It was only a day trip, so I was short on time trying to get everything done. My first was was to Arid Lands. I loved it there. There were so many plants of all kinds of sizes. From seedlings to speciman plants.

I really wanted to get this gem here. (plant above)

These flowers were huge Almost the size of my hand.

I guess those are all the photos that I can post. Will post the next ones.

Oh, How I would love to see this Nursery. One ADENIUM that I would truly love to have is one of Mark Dimmitt's first produced cross. " Crimson Star".

It is a single red, but absolutely gorgeous.

Yes, it was fun! That was the first time I had ever been there. I'm with you Rick, Crimson Star has always been on my list.

Of course, I bought some stuff. I actually bought lots of plants to sell at the cactus club meeting we had the following saturday..

These are the ones I kept. I plan on going back soon, just not sure of what day.

There are 2 A.somalense. The one with flowers, and the 3rd one. One Pachypodium succulentum, Cyphostemma juttea, and an A. arabicum (yellow throat).

Wow! I am fascinated with the various forms the trunks of young Adeniums take: conical, tubular, bulbous, and so on. I'm guessing pictures 5 and 8 are A. somalense; and in the lower right corner of picture 11, an A. arabicum?

Hey Bong-. Picture number 5 is actually A.socotranum and number 8 is A. arabicum (shada form). Yes the plant in 11 is an A. arabicum.

Did you acquire A. arabicum (shada form)? If so, has it flowered? While perusing Adenium arabicum images online, I found this:

Adenium ARABICUM SHADA

The flower looks just like mine:

The seeds I got through ebay were advertised as obesums.

Well, maybe it's false advertising? Who knows? If you click on the flower image on that website a company that sells seeds comes up.

Good Heavens! Just now, while perusing bing images that came up when I searched for arabicum shada, I found my own picture above together with most of the sentence I wrote below it. (Free advertising for ebay.)
