Why is there a skateboard in the middle of the room? I don't get it. :::scratches head:::

Hi. Lovely! where are the stools from?

Unitedlimited.... Skateboard probably n pic for balance/ something different n the pic... Art doesn't always make sense. The angle of the skateboard leads the eye to the stools which lead the eye around the rest of the kitchen. Just my guess.

@ruthabuck the back splash is a Calucutta Marble Tile. A beautiful choice for a light scheme with many natural colour tones to draw accent colours from like greys and taupes.

@jaz3 The kitchen stools are Erik Buch in teak and leather. In Sydney they are available through Great Dane Furniture.

@unitelimited this is definitely the most interesting question I have been asked on Houzz. When a designer or mag does a photo shoot on an interior it is styled. The styling needs to portray the feeling you are trying to portray in the room. In this case the skateboard is showing that a young family lives in this home and it is not a precious space, designed for family use. It also happens to be a great colour accent and breaks up the large amount of dark floor in the foreground of the image.
