Although the cabinets were custom built for this kitchen they are standard sized. The distance from the wall to the front of the base cabinet (cabinet depth) is 24" while the distance from the wall to the front of the wall cabinet (cabinet depth) is 12". The height of the counter top from the floor is 36", the height of the wall cabinet from bottom to top is 48" while the distance from the counter top to the base of the wall cabinet is 18". The homeowners are average height so keeping with understood "standard sizing" was an absolute must. The color choices combined with the strong lines of the design create a bit of an illusion in scale, a good indicator of the scale is the microwave that is mounted on the underside of the wall cabinets visible in the extreme left side of the picture.
