Thank you for your question! The floor is an earthen mud floor made from the soil on site.

The floor is and earthen floor crafted by Sukita Reay Crimmel. She just published a book titled "Earthen Floors, A Modern Approach To An Ancient Practice" published by New Society Publishers. It is an excellent resource. FYI, the floor feels WONDERFUL under foot...!!!
