Best configuration for a laundry closet

Hi,

I have a laundry closet that is 6'8" wide x 4' deep. It has bi-fold doors that open outward into a corridor space. Ideally I would like to put washer and dryer (both 27" wide) side by side and have a counter across the top with a sink to the side of them. Is that enough space to do that, or should I stack them? If I do so I lose counter space.
