Window Treatment Help please:)

Hi there. I would very much appreciate some help deciding on window treatment. This is the first set of panels that caught my eye - and I do like the black accent but also have some questions. Here are some thoughts/information:

Yes I know they look ridiculous right now. This really is a starting point and I did not want to hang a rod when I am not confident on what I will be doing for window coverings. Currently they are hanging, haphazardly on command strips to get an idea of size/pattern.
Our ceiling height is 108". These panels are 96". I cannot afford customs drapes so this is not an option. Would like to make these work - still a little unsure of pattern?
I like this pattern, but more on the bookshelf window, I worry it is too busy when it is closer to the wall mural (peacock feather).
Have considered both roman shades and "layering" curtains with sheers. Not entirely sure what to consider when layering. Will eventually have a bright white kitchen at back of this room - with black accents. Should curtain rod be black or stainless?

I definitely agree that the draperies are too short. You may want to consider allowing the artwork to take center stage and reduce the cost of your draperies by going with a less expensive solid fabric in a 96" length and a higher end contrasting fabric at the bottom. Select two colors from your painting. I would suggest the lighter blue color for the 96" panels and the darker color for the bottom fabric. I would also advise adding a contrasting texture with the bottom fabric for an elegant floor to ceiling length window treatment. Hopefully this would be more affordable given it would require less fabric for the nicer fabric used to lengthen the lower cost standard size panels. Additionally solids will give you greater flexibility to change out your pillows periodically for a different look seasonally.

You'll want to order online for longer lengths that will kiss the floor and ceiling, unless you add crown molding. Try Country Curtains.

They definitely need to be longer. Add black fabric to bottom??? Your eye is totally drawn to the window treatments, so you need to decide if that is your focal or your art is your focal point.

It's my pleasure! :) I buy just about anything off wayfair.com and they have 108" lengths.. Then there is also fabric stores, curtains are not that hard to make...:)

Ok. I will take a better look at wayfair - being in Canada is a little trickier as I have heard that returns are difficult - and pricey:(. I must know someone who can sew though - lol;)

I agree with the lighter feel for the curtains. I think blue and white and a touch of black in the fabric is a great idea keeping the room with the lighter feel. Even a drape with some color and texture would be a nice look.

These are a textured fabric in a blue. Subtle but add to the room.

Above are some drapes with a pattern and below is a graphic in the white,blue and a touch of black. Just some ideas to consider.
