What if you just move the fridge to the other side of that water pipe? Then put cabinets where the fridge was - maybe a coffee or wine bar.

It would be a good work triangle with the fridge in the middle of the "U".

That hallway seems to be hogging space, though. Can you push the fridge and maybe a walk-in pantry against the stair wall? Do you need the hallway for a walkway? Would it be too much traffic going through the kitchen otherwise?

One option is to use the existing formal dining room as the kitchen as well by removing the wall that is currently separating them if that is structurally possible.

The hallway needs to stay because there are nice arches to the left into the dinning room and to the right into the livingroom. However, the entrance into the kitchen does not have to be a straight shot, I suppose it could be cut off with an entrance tin the kitchen off the hallway going to the left where the fridge is.
