My immediate reaction is no drapes. What do the windows look like? I'm reading the room as Hollywood Glam and I think drapes are heavy and oppressive. Google the look for modern updates to that style.

Consider something like these that will help balance those corners with the rest of the room.

cream linen If you are on a budget, check out Ikea. the room is looking good. If you want more pattern, I would use Euro size down pillows on your sofa. big and squishy, very comfortable and the size which is usually 24 x 24 also contributes to the comfort an appearance. bright abstract handpainted silk would be spectacular or a zillion choices. plz remove the family pictures from your table. I would also raise the curtain, drapery rods.

Thank you for all your comments. Not home now to take a picture of the window.
Will raise rods and look more into drapes as per all your suggestions. Will take a picture of the whole space and add on in a few hours. Thanks again

Rest of the space. And windows. Pic below

boy this is a tough one. the fireplace is such a statement. but it makes the windows and ceiling look small/short. illusion will be key here.

What color is your rug? I like your room & I would like it kept minimalist I think. Almost like it better with the silowettes shades plain.

I would not do a a really sheer window treatment. . I think that you need a treat that hides the windows. a semi opaque treatment might work --- that is, obscure the window and allow some light to enter. they need to be floor to ceiling if you go with a drapery alone.

i think that i would use lined drapery panels and a valance with a Roman shade underneath. . I would leave the Roman shade partially down so that he. viewer does not see the top of the window.

I would try alighter grey curtains or a grey with some silver or white in them. it will still have that glamorous look. Beautiful room

Drapery panels the same color as the walls in a silk and take them completely out of the window. In other words hang them on a rod wise enough so they hang on the outside of the window frame. If you need privacy, use 2-3 inch blinds that you can draw all the way up to the top of the window.

Thanks for all your input and suggestions. Very much appreciated

Rug is grey and white
